Associate Engineer
Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
- AutoCad
- CAPE
- Dynamic lab testing equipment
- other skills: Excellent communication, packaging fundamentals, proactivity.
Red Flags:
- Those without packaging work experience
- without education in Packaging engineering
Day to Day:
- Position involves support of senior staff in the initiation, design, and delivery of projects, particularly for automation related scope.
- Employ basic engineering skills and practices to gather user requirements and translate them into technical documentation for execution by third party firms.
- Assist with project definition by performing engineering studies and assessment for automation system installations.
- Perform field evaluations of existing systems and provide engineering design recommendations.
Responsibilities:
Support of Packaging development activities to include:
- Writing of protocols and reports, testing builds and inspection, communication with external testing labs, general engineering support
Skills:
- previous intern experience is a plus
- experience with automation is a plus, as well as experience with computer programming, systems, and/or robotics.
Successful candidate:
- is engaged and ready to work and learn. take risks and anticipate needs.
- Leans on team for direction when needed but is also independent.
- Provided consistent follow up.
- Entry level role should have some experience in Package Engineering through internships, etc.
- Must have Bachelors in package engineering.
- Manager favors schools that specialize in package engineering.
