  • Manage numerous translation projects across multiple vendors
    • Communicate on a weekly basis with vendors and monitor progress.
    • Manage communication between vendors and internal  team
    • Write progress briefs about translation projects
    • Follow up with vendors about language directions with slow progress
  • Automatic data checking (QA) & storage
    • Run sanity check scripts and follow up with vendors about translations that fail checks
    • Do periodic spot checks on translations into English to check for errors in spelling & grammar and follow up on errors with vendors
    • Run scripts to store translations & evaluation data in Hive
  • Acquire books and parallel datasets in a variety of non-English languages
    • Search the web and contact publishers /resellers about acquiring books in a number of languages
    • Ensure all legal guidelines are being followed
    • Oversee the budget and confirm that team is making financially responsible decisions
    • Work with engineering and product partners on acquiring additional texts as necessary
  • Additional responsibilities involving data acquisition and translation reviews will also be included

Skills:
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Be independent and thorough in examination and analysis, alongside results oriented
  • Basic experience with Excel required
  • Project management experience is required
  • Any work with datasets is preferred
  • Interest in languages/translations is a plus
  • Experience with the command line would be helpful for running scripts directly

Education:: Bachelors degree preferred
