Enterprise Platform Integration Applications Engineer


Team Overview


The Enterprise Platforms Integration team (EPI) is a global team which provides integration as a service including on-boarding, deploying, improving and supporting product integrations.


The Apps team goal is to not only efficiently manage, triage and help resolve ticket items, but to also collaborate with other engineering teams to improve process efficiency, help redefine the platforms to reduce the amount of tickets to improve customer experience. The Apps team is responsible for supporting multiple third party products and build technology as needed to scale operations. 


The oncall is responsible for dealing with system and app integration issues.

We use a lot of internal Customer tools and frameworks to accomplish these engineering tasks. Our environment is dynamic, our workloads are at the high end of any workloads you may find elsewhere, and we have a great team that shares information freely and openly. 



  • Maintain a healthy and highly available Enterprise platform for our upstream users and developers

  • Extend the tools with functionality or performance related engineering and deployment automation around the world

  • Architect and support Enterprise frameworks

  • Scale and maintain large distributed installations of MicroStrategy, Tableau and Cortex.

  • Optimize systems/software for performance, availability and scalability

  • Build strong relationships with customers (internal Enterprise developer groups within Facebook), solving operational issues and implementing quality improvements to the base tools that make them better suited for our clients' needs.

  • Carry out activities in incident, problem, change and configuration management and continual service improvement processes



  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience

  • Proven work experience in IT

  • Experience in supporting and administering Enterprise platforms in a hands-on capacity.

  • Experience with process automation

  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms

  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English

  • Experience with or knowledge of:

    • programming languages and operating systems; 

    • current equipment and technologies, 

    • enterprise backup and recovery procedures, 

    • system performance-monitoring tools, 

    • active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching

  • Highly skilled in installing and configuring new hardware/software

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, manage and complete multiple tasks on a daily basis in a high-volume work environment

  • Ability to produce clear and concise technical and functional  documentation



  • Experience with Python, PHP, Javascript, Bash or Powershell

  • Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Presto or other Big Data technologies

  • Experience managing applications on Linux and Windows

  • Experience interfacing and extending 3rd party APIs such as Tableau or Microstrategy
