Integration Engineer Manufacturing Supervisor

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team on a contingent basis for a period of six months.

The main function of an integration engineer is to partner with internal design teams in the development of high volume consumer products. The typical integration engineer will function as an expert in Design for Excellence methods.

The primary location for this role is Redmond, WA; however, there will be instances where travel to Vancouver, WA and Seattle, WA will be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise teams involved in the manufacturing of printed circuit board assemblies, flexible printed circuit board assemblies, and other electromechanical components.
  • Ensure adherence to processes related to S&T process, underfill, AOI, flame probe, MTE, ICT, fast prototyping, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, CNC injection molding, and wearables.
  • Oversee the execution of ESD protocols and coordinate activities involving adhesives (PSA or liquid dispenser), and process engineering.
  • Contribute to program management, failure analysis, and the development of high-level ambiguity resolution strategies.
  • Advise mechanical and electrical design engineers in implementing Design for Excellence into their designs
  • Advise internal design teams for manufacturability, assembly, test and verification, safety, reliability, compliance, etc.
  • Manage external vendors in the design, creation and qualification of assembly and test equipment.
  • Guide and support engineers who develop custom-built tools on top of APIs
  • Create detailed integration specifications, field mappings and designs to support the entire integration development life-cycle.
  • Research integration failures, perform root cause analyses, and report back to management and business leaders.
  • Develop plans to mitigate and avoid future system issues.
  • Safeguard system access and security and support system audits

Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a relevant manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of process engineering and development in a manufacturing setting.
  • Background in working with wearables or similar electromechanical devices.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB assembly processes and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with fast prototyping and rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Understanding of ESD protocols and their implementation.
  • Ability to supervise and guide teams through complex manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate high levels of ambiguity.
  • Knowledge of mass production of consumer products.
  • Knowledge of Design for Excellence methodologies for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Knowledge with 2D and 3D tolerance analysis
  • Comfortable with occasional travel to Vancouver, WA and Seattle, WA as needed.
  • Experience with ultrasonic welding and various types of adhesives preferred.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science

 

Pay range is $53 - $58 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
