Lab Operations / Lab Manager III

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Senior Lab Engineer to maintain Jira issue management system, set up dashboards, etc.
  • Manage and track tasks in the REL Lab to ensure timely completion and efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of lab activities, including task assignments, progress, and completion.
  • Train new personnel on lab procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Support fixture development by coordinating with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Responsible for actively tracking task milestones and proactive communications to alert the lab team of changes, potential bottlenecks, and delays.
  • Manage laboratory equipment: PM, repairs, calibration schedules, and ensure EHS standards are met.
  • Track resource utilization (personnel and equipment) metrics across SUN assets.
  • Communicate asset status to requestors so they can establish priorities for test requests.
  • Manage checkpoint dates with self service tasks to ensure progress is tracked and assets are effectively utilized.
  • Work with facility systems and ensure continuity of operation.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures

Skills:
  • Ability to manage laboratory equipment. PM, repairs, calibration schedules, and ensure EHS standards are met.
  • Ability to operate and understand the safe use of environmental chambers, drop tower/high speed cameras/lighting, basic universal test machine operation, and have a basic understanding of electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to provide training and instruction to users/check-out the equipment.
  • Ability to organize and effectively operate a lab. Ability to identify and remove hazards, maintain cleanliness, organization, and support the management of lab supplies.
  • Ability to track basic utilization metrics across RED assets. Ability to communicate asset status to requestors so they can establish priorities for test requests. Ability to manage checkpoint dates with self service tasks to ensure progress is tracked and assets are effectively utilized.
  • Ability to review test requests, in conjunction with requestor, to determine capabilities that will be required and help guide requestors to those capabilities.
  • Ability to work with facility systems and ensure continuity of operation.
  • Ability to manage consolidation efforts of equipment, schedule services, and manage onsite support.

 

Pay range is $46 - $51 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
