Mechanical Engineer IV
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of a highly cross-functional team
- Manage, design and release parts and subassemblies to an Asia-based Supply Chain
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
- Travel to manufacturer to support production bring-up. Root cause and evaluate failures, collaborate with cross functional team on mitigation plan
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM) for FPCs, compression molding, injection molding, and die cut adhesives.
- Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, GD&T
- Designing, iterating, and releasing parts in 3D/2D CAD for mass production
- Strong consistent communication of updates and progress via slides and or reports
- Ability to work across multiple time zones (EST, PDT, and Asian time zones)
- 7+ years of product design and development experience of handheld and/or wearable high volume consumer electronics, including complex subsystems and/or full systems ownership
- Experience with NX CAD (Parametric modeling in NX is highly preferred)
- Experience designing and shipping products with an Asia-based supply chain
- Prototyping skills (can take an idea, CAD a test buck and work with proper channels to fabricate independently)
- Knowledge of test platforms and ability to run tests, gather data, and can compile findings into a report
