Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
The Collaboration team develops groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware and software to create new ways for people to work together.
Starting with a broad mechanical engineering design background from sheet-metal forming, die-casting, machining to plastic injection molding, be willing to tackle and work on different areas from video conferencing products to quick connects mounting systems for various office products, and working with multiple stakeholders to ensure the success of the system design. Candidate is a hands on fast learner who willing to quickly develop, prototype and deploy various testing system across campus offices.
This position is based at our Menlo Park, California office. The role involves up to 20% travel, primarily and supplier locations in Europe and Asia.
-Develop mechanical hardware designs from initial concepts, simulation and analyses, refinement of design details, drawing generation, BOM creation, prototype hardware procurement, first-article inspection, assembly and integration? with existing system
-Hands on experience in assembling multiple electronic components (camera, screen, speakers and etc) together for test deployments
-Develop specifications, component and assembly drawings
-Be able to work on DFM and design updates with external vendor? s
-Design and implement mechanical assemblies meeting challenging performance criteria while being low-cost and manufacturable in volume
-Generate thorough design documentation, including design review slides, analysis reports, fabrication & assembly drawings, assembly and test procedures, etc.
-Experience in Creo 2.0 CAD design tools for parts, assemblies, drawing generation
-Experience in owning a mechanical development, working with another lead Mechanical Engineer
-Experience in one or more of the following areas: developing various mechanical mounts for screens, cameras and other AV equipment, cable management systems, display panel and electronics integration
-Experience in design for manufacturability and design for cost, and other DFx concepts
-Good communication, interpersonal, negotiation and organizational experience
-Be able and fit enough to lift at least 50lbs
-BS or MS in mechanical engineering with 4-7 years of academic or industry experience
