Summary:

Our Data Center Sustainability team drives Net Zero strategy, programs and engagement for data center research design and construction with our partners. We seek an experienced Net Zero Lead to work with internal org stakeholders to drive strategy and implement a portfolio of emissions reduction projects to meet our Net Zero 2030 value chain goal. This role will be responsible for collaborating with our Data Center Engineering and Construction team members to identify long term pathways to reduce our GHG emissions and partnering with cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of new and existing GHG reduction initiatives. We are looking for smart and flexible candidates who are enthusiastic about collaborating with others, with strong analytical skills, demonstrated technical and critical thinking abilities and exemplary communication skills. The ideal candidate has strong GHG emissions accounting and decarbonization expertise, and has experience in the technical capacity of data center construction.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead collaborations with cross-functional partners to set internal emissions reduction targets and drive the development of emission reduction strategies for data centers.
  • Drive identification, evaluation, and prioritization of transformational decarbonization solutions using technical, financial and supply chain criteria
  • Implement portfolio of GHG reduction programs that align with corporate strategy and goals through partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Effectively communicate program progress internally, including developing collateral for and participating in executive communications.
  • Work with key project team members to ensure alignment among all internal stakeholders and to find creative ways to overcome obstacles to achieve Net Zero program goals
  • Provide hands-on program management with internal teams from project conception to implementation phases
  • Identify areas of risk, quantify those risks, and develop mitigations with subject matter experts within the organization
  • Effectively communicate complex technical content to stakeholders and partners with diverse/varied technical backgrounds
  • Ability to travel (10%).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience with highly technical building types and the component parts that decarbonization efforts will affect
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Program Management, Architecture, sustainability or Engineering
  • 3+ years experience related to decarbonization and/or Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs)
  • Experience driving GHG reduction projects end-to-end within a company’s direct operations and/or value chain.
  • Experience with carbon reduction and removal strategies
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal staff and external consultants, vendors and other stakeholders
  • Experience delivering complex projects aligned with large scale corporate goals through influence and collaboration
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and partner teams. Experience collaborating with different individuals across the organization and within other geographies
  • Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in related field (e.g. MBA, Master’s in Sustainability Management, Environmental science).
  • Experience in decarbonization strategies for large-scale, mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with Data Center/hyper scale, design and construction

 

Pay range is $95 - $100 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
