Job Title: Network Engineer, Wireless Connectivity

  • Solid understanding of end-to-end networking-related functions that pertain to satellite terminals (CPE/VSAT) and satellite teleport/gateways, such as protocol encapsulation, quality of service mechanisms, network security, interworking with IP/MPLS/Ethernet terrestrial networks, characteristics of GEO and NGSO satellite networks
  • Solid understanding of TCP/UDP behavior across long-latency networks, satellite optimization techniques, header compression, GTP acceleration
  • Good understanding of 2G/3G/4G cellular networks, satellite backhaul networks and end-to-end network services such as DIA, L2VPN/L3VPN/IP/MPLS, SecGW
  • Experience in configuring, testing and integrating end-to-end networks consisting of access/edge/core technologies and transport networks (switches, routers, gateways, packet optical)
  • Working knowledge of EMS, NMS, RMS systems, fault management & performance monitoring & configuration management
  • Strong knowledge in IT-related linux/networking configuration (DHCP, DNS, IPv4/IPv6, VLAN, virtual interfaces, MTU, OSPF/BGP, IPSec)
  • Experience with test plan development, execution, troubleshooting and documenting issues, setting up test beds, configuring test equipment, RF chambers and troubleshooting end-to-end networks
  • Experience with network traffic generators (eg., IXA, Spirent, Xena), traffic impairment boxes, KPI measurement tools, spectrum analyzers, protocol analyzers (eg., wireshark)
  • Desired experience in automating test cases, API integration, python scripting
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with cross-functional and very dynamic teams


Education: Bachelor' s degree in engineering or related discipline
