Summary:
Our Legal team is seeking a motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented candidate with impeccable judgment and interpersonal skills to join our Law Enforcement Response Policy Team for the NORAM region (Inc.). The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, and exceptional partnering skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain operational policies and processes to support a team handling a large volume of incoming requests from law enforcement and third parties.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to integrate products into data disclosure tooling to meet legal obligations and support efficient processing by operational teams.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to a diverse group of cross-functional partners.
- Articulate policy background and supporting rationale to relevant internal parties, including legal, operations, engineering, and other internal stakeholders.
- Manage and coordinate development of operational policies based upon input from cross-functional teams.
- Track the progress of operational policies from submission to implementation.
- Address operational policy-related issues in support of corporate strategy, policy, and objectives.
- Identify policy gaps and deliver ongoing communications to team members and cross-functional partners.
- Draft operational policy-related materials including reports, propose documentation updates, develop documentation based on legal guidance, create instructional content, with the ability to proof, revise, and edit copy to ensure both accuracy and quality of content, convert complex ideas and concepts into easily understood documentation.
- Support operational policy escalations related to sensitive subject matters from global team members, quality assurance team, and cross-functional partners, and collaborate on policy decisions with the legal team.
- Provide support to leadership as needed, including documentation change management and metrics.
- Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that development and operational readiness requirements are understood and implemented.
- Ensure that all requests are scrutinized and handled in strict accordance with applicable laws, our terms of service, and our law enforcement guidelines.
- Ensure proper tracking and reporting on the engagement and outcomes of operational policy efforts and provide cross-functional partners with information on policy development activity.
- Manage time to prioritize multiple competing priorities.
- Adapt to flexible working hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of policy, product, government, legal, operational, compliance, privacy, or strategy experience.
- Experience prioritizing multiple functions and tasks while managing core work responsibilities without compromising quality.
- Experience working at a tech company or with tech clients.
- Experience with technical writing
- Experience with partnering, both within the team and with a wide range of internal partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in managing and resolving complex problems and issues.
- Experience with using judgment in handling sensitive matters and an ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in law enforcement policy and risk-assessment, drafting regulatory language, and a knowledge of privacy and data security principals.
- Global work experience.
- Experience with project management and with working under pressure. Instructional design and proofreading experience.
- Experience with crisis management and issue-based communications.
Must have skills:
- Knowledge with internal policy processes (SOPs, guidance, policies).
- Proficient and comfortable with managing complex conflicts and problem resolution.
- Project management.
- Experience with XFN teams (able to adapt to multiple audiences).
- Excellent writing skills (able to take meeting minutes, translate meeting notes of what is discussed, and draft guidance send it to legal for approval).
- Knowledge in legal processes.
Nice to have skills:
- Global work experience – experience working with global markets.
Education:
- BA/BS degree.
