Pay range is $83 - $88 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

PCB Layout Engineer

Summary:
We are building the next generation of input devices. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the bring up and success of the electrical components in these devices. The PCB Layout Engineer is responsible for overseeing and laying out mixed signal design PCBs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of PCB design to implement designs from the hardware engineers.
  • Create OrCAD schematic symbols, PCB footprint and 3D component models in Allegro to unblock layout progress
  • Work with librarians to enter parts correctly (if they are not already present in the library)
  • Verify symbols/footprints/models against data sheets.
  • Import and manipulate mechanical outlines.
  • Interface with PCB/Assembly vendors to determine PCB stack-up, apply design constraints, and shepherd through the DFM process.
  • Perform component placement and signal routing of mixed signal, high-speed, and RF multi-layer HDI circuit boards.
  • Verify pinouts using paper dolls or other techniques.
  • Prepare fabrication notes, assembly notes, and all deliverables (e.g. Gerber files, drill charts, PCB assembly BOMs, etc.) required by PCB FAB vendors to build circuit boards for prototypes and products.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience using Cadence OrCAD/Allegro for PCB design is required.
  • Extensive leadership experience and knowledge of PCB Design, PCB stack-up and materials, good understanding of PCB technology and process.
  • PCB design experience in analog, high speed digital, mixed signal design, and RF.
  • Experience with all phases of design including thermal mitigation, impedance control, EMC, grounding, and PCB reliability.
  • Experience and knowledge of IPC standards and practices
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of PCB design used in high volume products
  • Experience with HDI, flex, and Rigid-Flex board design and manufacturing
  • Experience in prototyping and rapid iteration of designs
