Summary:
Our Intelligence team is seeking an analyst to work on on-platform identification of entities connected to state-affiliated media outlets and commercial services, research on overt influence, activities of various nation-states, and work with our analysts and policy partners on identifying new ways to address these issues through policy and product change.
This position will work closely with our Intel analysts, the supporting investigations team, as well as policy, partnerships, and operational stakeholders.

Research Analyst II

Summary:
Our Intelligence team is seeking an analyst to work on on-platform identification of entities connected to state-affiliated media outlets and commercial services, research on overt influence, activities of various nation-states, and work with our analysts and policy partners on identifying new ways to address these issues through policy and product change.
This position will work closely with our Intel analysts, the supporting investigations team, as well as policy, partnerships, and operational stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience conducting open-source research
- Experience with digital investigations, analytical tooling
- Experience with data-driven querying tools such as SQL and Python
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to draw conclusions from data
- Familiarity with geopolitical issues and political analysis
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and as a team player
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with covert and overt influence operations
- Experience conducting commercial due diligence
- Ability to use Lexis Nexis or other similar research tools
- Familiarity with network analysis
- Experience in producing and delivering threat intelligence
Services:
- Intake of publisher names for state-controlled media from policy and news partnerships and identify on platform presence using opens source methods, on platform tooling and fanouts, SQL queries, notebook development
- Audit existing state-controlled media publishers and pages for missing subsidiaries, covert, linked entities
- Research on the activities of labeled state-controlled media publishers, using internal analytical tools and data fields to study if they have covert networks connected to them
- Research on media publishes that exhibit borderline affiliation to state organs to determine the nature and depth of the association
- Research on overt influence activities of nation-state actors more generally
- Work with policy and product on additional enforcement options, intelligence products, and product levers for overt influence actors
- Research and triage of commercial entities possibly engaged in violating activities on-platform
- Engage internal investigative partners to obtain requirements and share information
- Assist in the development of tools and research methods to improve efficiency of processes
