Research Scientist III


Summary:

Our company is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our Human Computer Interaction (HCI) research team. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge research questions related to Human-AI interaction. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, conducting data analysis, and innovating methodology to answer research questions. You will collaborate with other researchers, designers, and engineers to solve complex problems and provide insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct experiments and studies to answer research questions
  • Conduct data analysis using statistical and machine learning methods
  • Develop methods and procedures for data collection, organization, interpretation, and classification
  • Create graphics and visualizations to communicate data insights to broad audiences
  • Break down ambiguous research problems into operable research questions
  • Apply theoretical expertise and technical innovations to new domains
  • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to determine computing needs and system requirements
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Write reports to communicate findings and results to stakeholders

Skills:
  • Strong statistical and machine learning skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis using Python and data modeling packages
  • Knowledge of study and experimental design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with other collaborators such as qualitative researchers, designers, and engineers
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Experience creating graphics and visualizations to communicate data insights to broad audiences
  • Experience in prototyping user interfaces and systems (preferred)

Education/Experience:
  • Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human AI Interaction, or equivalent experience required.
  • PhD in Human Computer Interaction, Human AI Interaction, or equivalent experience (preferred)
