Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to support our suite of tools designed to address global operational challenges for the Public Policy Org at our company. The ideal candidate will have expertise building and launching solutions as a Technical Lead -- that is, experience building solutions (particularly using Salesforce) as well as liaising with internal teams to identify the root cause of issues and align on an effective solution. We are also seeking candidates who are creative and open to learning new tools as needed, particularly our internal tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the functionality and security of the suite of internal tools for the Policy Org (e.g., Salesforce database and use cases, custom internal tools)
  • Lead strategic projects as needed to develop new technical solutions to global operational challenges (e.g., align on and document core requirements, develop workback schedule/plan, lead execution, flag roadblocks)
  • Serve as a Liaison to our internal Enterprise Engineering team that provides global technical support to our Policy teams for our Salesforce solutions
  • Respond in a timely manner to teams requiring technical support if Enterprise Engineering is unable to troubleshoot
  • Audit internal tools on a quarterly cadence, and complete prioritized change requests on a monthly cadence
  • Stay up-to-date on new Salesforce and internal tool features to enable strategic improvements of our tools
  • Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of the database to the management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
  • Work as part of the Policy Org Tooling team to coordinate ongoing and project-based work

Required Skills:
  • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience driving discussions to align on technical requirements for requested solutions, experience drafting documents to clearly articulate those requirements
  • Solutions-oriented, ability to proactively identify/troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues
  • Experience working with global teams, and is comfortable working across time zones as needed
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.

Bonus Skills:
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree, with formal engineering training required.
  • Salesforce training, e.g., certifications

 

Pay range is $84 - $89 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
