Sr. Data Migration Specialist
As a Senior Data Migration Specialist working on a 6-month contract basis, you will be a pivotal part of the Enterprise Collaboration Team. Your expertise in data migration will be essential in the administration and integration of data following our M&A activities. This role involves collaborating with business partners to understand their data needs and ensuring the efficient and secure transfer of data. Your responsibilities will include the assessment, preparation, mapping, execution, and validation of data, providing both support and guidance throughout the process.
- Assessment of Data: Conduct thorough evaluations of data from various sources to ensure quality and structure.
- Collaboration with Business Owners: Work closely with business owners to comprehend and fulfill their data requirements.
- Support for the Production Team: Provide assistance in data mapping and refinement, aligning with internal systems.
- Execution of Data Migrations: Manage the migration process to transfer data accurately and securely.
- Validation: Perform post-migration checks to ensure all data has been correctly transferred and is functional.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data migration, data management, or a similar role within the IT industry. Experience with M&A-related projects is highly desirable.
- Strong background in migrating data from various storage solutions, including SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, Box, Dropbox, and traditional Network File Shares.
- Proven track record of managing complex data migration projects, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and meet project deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify data patterns, quality issues, and the skills to propose solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality of data.
- Understanding of data privacy and security best practices.
