Pay range is $22 - $30 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Summer Intern, Medical Affairs, Field Medical


Intern Position Summary

The role will include partnering with the Regional Medical Director on internal and external meetings with the goal of learning and understanding the multifaceted role that is field medical affairs. The ideal candidate will identify creative opportunities to contribute to the team with the expectation of completing at least one project during the internship.

Intern Job Responsibilities/Deliverables
  • Learn the role of field medical responsibilities within Medical Affairs
  • Intern will train with self-guided study related to general Medical Affairs activities, study of relevant disease states, gene therapy and clinical trials. These activities will be followed with twice weekly conversations with Medical Affairs colleagues for clarity and real-world experience.
  • Gain experience/contribute to retrieving, interpreting and disseminating scientific data via publications, scientific congresses, HCP interactions, regulatory input and health economic outcomes.
    • When applicable, the intern will participate in internal medical related calls to understand the broader medical affairs needs and cross functional partnerships
    • The intern will learn how vital staying current with publications that are directly and indirectly relevant to the position, including partnering with our Medical and Scientific Communications colleagues.
    • The intern will be included in congress planning, congress attendance (if possible) and post-congress reporting and presentation
    • The intern will be encouraged to develop presentation skills internally by presenting project or current scientific articles as they arise

Intern Qualifications and Skills
  • Life Sciences student enrolled in an advanced degree program (MS/Genetic Counselor, PhD, ANP, PharmD, MSN, etc)
  • Must have an interest in pursuing a career in Life Sciences/Biotech/Pharmaceuticals
  • Committed to a full-time, summer internship
  • Ability to manage workload effectively including planning, organizing, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
  • Academic interest in the goal of addressing the unmet need in individuals with rare disease
