Systems Administrator III
Remote
Summary:
Administer linux-based servers, Kubernetes infrastructure and assist in operational tasks such as migrating services to containers platforms. Also responsible for support, triage, and should be able to handle emergency escalations from internal teams as part of an on-call rotation.
Operations
- Architecting and administering a production containers environment in all versions of CentOS Linux in accordance with best practices
- Deploying and configuring Linux-based operating systems in the data center
- Resolving customer tickets related to installation / configuration requests, container migrations, as well as technical issues
- Troubleshoot performance issues
- Provide support, triage, and handle emergency escalations from internal teams as part of an on-call rotation
- Perform analyses of competing technologies and products, suggest improvements in the current landscape
- Perform technical analyses, system designs and system development to improve the technical landscape
- Create, modify and review documentation
- Participate in other projects together with Client engineers, take ownership of these projects or tasks therein
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in IT support roles (any Tier) for Linux Server-based systems, including end-user support
- Experience in deploying servers in virtualized and bare metal environments
- Practical knowledge of Linux features such as: filesystems, authentication, update and deployment mechanisms, general configuration
- Familiarity with containers environment components like Kubernetes, Docker, containerd, container registry, and container network interfaces
- Practical knowledge of Python and Bash, knowledge of Ruby is a plus
- Experience with troubleshooting Linux Server performance
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment where remote contact with the Client is the predominant contact method
- Fluent English - both written and spoken
- Red Hat and/or Kubernetes certification is a plus
