Technical Program Manager V


Summary:

We are looking for an experienced, highly technical TPM to work with the team driving definition and development of a new product technology. If you have broad experience across various key hardware technologies (e.g biosensing, displays, cameras, RF, custom silicon), a strong product/customer focus, experience guiding complex programs through the technology development process to productization, and the ability to distill tradeoffs down to key factors and drive critical product decisions we’d love to hear from you

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time and budget and under circumstances involving multiple ambiguous workstreams.
  • Program-level strategic planning, interaction with executive level management, complex issue resolution, excellent communications and team building skills.
  • Manage a group or groups of internal exempt and matrixed employees and contractors that serve on the project(s) to deliver systems and systems enhancements that meet specified requirements.
  • Understanding of consumer electronics system architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to work through system-level development tradeoffs
  • Developed skills for planning and executing development in advanced consumer electronics products - both prototype build events and overall product planning
  • Oversight of project scope definition and management, requirements gathering and documentation, time estimating, project schedule development and tracking, project budget management, project status reporting, issue and risk management, contingency planning, customer interaction, and communications across multiple organizational levels.
  • Identifying the most critical questions and organizing teams to find efficient ways to get answers. Understanding the link between technical decisions for the system and customer experience and communicating impacts clearly and concisely

Skills:
  • Strong technical background in Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineering
  • Proactive and highly self-motivated; good critical thinking capabilities and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to operate well in an environment with rapid development cycles and constant change
  • Experience as primary point of contact with vendors and CM partners to establish a daily build plan, provide clear direction and guidance to meet the program and build objectives
  • Project estimating, project scheduling & tracking, customer interaction and management, implementation planning in large organizations
  • Proven people management and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization
  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions
  • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment
  • Experience with embedded hardware development lifecycle

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as mechanical engineering or electrical engineering or related field required.
  • 7+ yrs of relevant hardware engineering experience in consumer electronics
  • 5+ yrs of project management experience
  • PMP or PMI certification preferred

 

Pay range is $118 - $123 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
