Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team and provide high-quality documentation, code samples, and tutorials for creators of Horizon Worlds. As a Technical Writer IV, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative content that helps developers build immersive experiences in our platform.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain accurate, concise, and engaging documentation for Horizon ---Worlds, including API references, guides, and tutorials
- Develop code samples and examples that demonstrate best practices for building immersive experiences in Horizon Worlds
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and design, to ensure that documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Conduct research and interviews to gather information and create content that meets the needs of our developer audience
- Work independently to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with minimal supervision
- Continuously improve and refine documentation based on feedback from internal stakeholders and external users
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience writing for a developer audience, with a focus on technical documentation and code samples
- Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience with version control systems
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and concise language
- Ability to work independently and escalate issues where needed
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with 3D AR/VR gaming and a preference for experience with technical writing for platforms
- Former Meta or Google employee, with experience working on large-scale technical documentation projects
- Knowledge of media production and instructional design principles, with experience creating interactive tutorials and guides
Pay range is $67 - $72 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
