Job Title: UX Researcher III


We are looking for a User Experience Researcher with a mixed-methods (i.e., both qualitative and quantitative) background to support the Governance and Oversight Board team.

For this position, we are looking for a mixed-methods researcher with broad skills in qualitative research methods (e.g., thematic analysis and hand-coding) and comfort with quantitative analyses (e.g., ANOVA, multiple regression). The right candidates will be excellent communicators and writers, highly organized, and comfortable with user interfaces such as CrowdTangle and similar social platforms. Successful candidates will also be comfortable in a flat, fast moving organization, excited to collaborate, and focused squarely on gathering and analyzing high-quality qualitative and quantitative data. 

  • Establish and follow protocols to hand-code and label sentiment and themes of text-based data
  • Maintain social media listening platforms such as CrowdTangle, including maintenance of user lists, queries, and accounts
  • Offer CrowdTangle support for cross-functional team members, including configuration, live display creation, and recurring reporting of key insights around text-based data
  • Write preliminary reports of data collected through social media listening platforms
  • Provide ongoing analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, and generating insights based on these data



  • At least 3 years of Mixed Methods experience, including qualitative methods: in depth interviewing, focus groups, ethnography, remote as well as field studies
  • Masters Degree in social science (e.g., Communication, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Psychology) or in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Informatics, Econometrics) with experience answering social questions
  • Knowledge of lab, field, individual, and group-based qualitative methods, as well as quantitative, behavioral analysis, and statistical concepts including survey design
  • Experience working with multi-method studies
  • Experience with survey and questionnaire design, log analysis, sampling, and statistical analyses of survey or behavioral data
  • Experience conducting international/cross-cultural research


  • 3+ years of experience conducting research in an organization or consulting environment, including working with key stakeholders to understand and clarify their people research needs, and communicating analyses to technical and non-technical audiences
  • 3+ years of experience applying multivariate statistical methods such as GLM, analysis of quasi-experimental research designs with non-equivalent groups (e.g., regression adjustment, matching, propensity score stratification), longitudinal analysis, classification, dimension reduction, clustering, hierarchical linear (random effects) modeling, etc., to people research problems in organizations
  • Experience identifying and working with vendors on end-to-end research design on international research projects
  • Experience with SQL/Hive and/or Python and large datasets (> 1TB)
  • Comfortable leading cross-functional partners in international research and international research trips


  • MA / PhD required
  • Experience in applied product research
