CPE team members will serve as Tier-2 technical support for Windows and Linux-based desktops. They will work closely with Tier-1 support to enable solving of more complex issues. They will also work on issues related to GPO and AD.

As an important part of their job, CPE team members will be working in highly automated environment and engaged to: continue to support automation utilizing many technologies and programming/scripting languages like i.e.: powershell/ruby/bash/python, participate in launches of new sites based on AWS hosted virtual desktops, provide certification for new Linux releases, and many more.

An ideal candidate for this position will have considerable experience in one area (Windows or Linux) and basic experience in the other area.

Responsibilities (Windows)
  • Operations:
    • Fix problems related to user’s virtual desktops (escalation from Tier-1)
    • Support and execute requests related to GPO and AD configuration
    • Assist with software updates and debug package failures, OS upgrades when newer releases are qualified
    • Fix performance issues
  • Engineering:
    • Participate in projects launching new virtual desktop-based locations
    • Maintain OS images to be current (patching, vulnerability management)
    • Perform Chef/GPO changes as required by the Client
    • Operating System configuration changes as required
    • Life-cycle management for Teradici software agent through new releases
    • Trust center config for Teradici Mgmt Console and configurations 
    • Addressing 0-day vulnerabilities via OS image updates or GPO patches
    • Participate in other projects together with Client engineers, take ownership of these projects or tasks therein


Responsibilities (Linux)
  • Operations:
    • Assist with software updates and debug package failures, OS upgrades when newer releases are qualified
    • Fix problems related to user’s desktops (escalation from Tier-1), including network connectivity issues, GPU driver issues, escalation for problems not solvable on Tier-1
  • Engineering:
    • Qualification of new Fedora and CentOS versions in line with release schedule
    • Prepare migration from Fedora to CentOS for the desktop user base
    • Troubleshooting Linux GPU driver issues and providing engineering solutions to these problems
    • Participate in other projects together with Client engineers, take ownership of these projects or tasks therein

 

Qualifications 
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support roles (any Tier) for Windows-based and/or Linux-based desktop systems, including end-user support
  • Good knowledge of GPO and Active Directory / Good overall knowledge of Linux systems, including testing new versions, networking, configuration, and resolving GPU driver issues
  • Familiarity with tools like Chef, certificate stores, virtual desktop infrastructure, imaging
  • Knowledge of scripting/programming languages mentioned will be an advantage
  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with only remote contact with the Client
